Ready in five minutes
Nothing to install first. The installer sets everything up by itself, your key switches Motion Studio on, and Claude connects with one button.
- Adobe After Effects 2022 or newer, on Windows or Mac.
- A Claude account with a paid plan (Pro or Max). Claude’s work runs on it, with nothing extra per message.
- Your Motion Studio key, from your email. No key yet? Get one: it arrives in minutes.
- DownloadOn the home page press Download for Windows. You get
Motion-Studio-Windows.zip. - UnzipRight-click the zip › Extract All › Extract. Open the Motion Studio folder.
- InstallDouble-click Install Motion Studio. If a blue “Windows protected your PC” box appears: More info › Run anyway. It gets everything it needs by itself the first time (Node.js and Claude Code; press Enter if it asks). Wait for Done. Motion Studio is installed.
- Open the panelQuit After Effects completely and open it again. Then Window › Extensions › Motion Studio. Dock it wherever you like.
- ActivatePaste the key from your email (
MS-XXXXX-…) and press Activate. You do this once on each computer. - Connect ClaudePress Connect Claude. Claude’s own sign-in page opens: choose your account, press Authorize, and paste the code back in the panel.
- AskOpen Chat and describe the motion you want, the way you’d brief an animator.
- DownloadOn the home page press Download for Mac. You get
Motion-Studio-Mac.zipin Downloads. - UnzipDouble-click the zip. A Motion Studio folder appears next to it.
- InstallRight-click Install Motion Studio.command › Open › Open (a plain double-click is blocked the first time because the file was downloaded). A Terminal window sets everything up by itself, Node.js and Claude Code included; press Enter if it asks. Wait for Done. Motion Studio is installed.
- Still blocked?Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down, press Open Anyway next to “Install Motion Studio”, then open it again.
- Open the panelQuit After Effects (⌘Q) and open it again. Then Window › Extensions › Motion Studio.
- ActivatePaste the key from your email (
MS-XXXXX-…) and press Activate. Once on each Mac. - Connect ClaudePress Connect Claude. Claude’s own sign-in page opens: choose your account, press Authorize, and paste the code back in the panel.
- AskOpen Chat and describe the motion you want.
Reference tools. The first time, the installer also adds the tools Claude uses for references (about 250 MB): videos and images from any link, frames, any format, and Claude’s own browser. They update themselves. If they were skipped, the panel offers them on Home.
Is it safe? Everything installs in your own user folders, with no admin password, and anything it downloads is checked before it is used. Your Claude sign-in happens on Claude’s own page; Motion Studio never sees it. Updates come to you: the panel tells you and installs each one with one click, and only signed Motion Studio updates are accepted.
If something doesn’t work
The panel isn’t in Window › Extensions
Quit After Effects completely (not just the project) and open it again. On Windows, check the installer said Done; run it again if it didn’t.
The installer says it couldn’t get ready
It needs the internet the first time, to fetch what it runs on. Check the connection and run it again. Nothing is left half-installed.
“This key is already used on all the computers it covers”
Your key is busy on another computer. Message us on WhatsApp and we move it, or add a computer to it.
I lost my key
Sign in on the Your orders and keys page with the account you bought with: every key you bought is there, ready to copy.
Claude doesn’t answer in the chat
Press Connect Claude again in the panel, and check your Claude plan is active (Pro or Max).
